This recording of the World Orchestra of Jeunesse Musicales was produced during the latter’s stay in Canada at the 21st Olympiad held in Montreal in the summer of 1976. The Orchestra took part in the official opening of the games.
An initiative of Gilles Lefebvre, president and founder of the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada, the World Orchestra was born in 1969 thanks to the financial support of the cultural branch of the Ministry of External Affairs of Canada.
